From October 28 through November 2, Spring Mills FFA members went to Indianapolis, Indiana for an FFA Convention.

This convention was the 92nd National Convention and Expo and had members of FFA come from nation-wide. This event was to encourage members in finding their next career step and to inspire them.

At the convention, they had concerts, games, and workshops. An SMHS senior, Kelton Werner, participated in a quiz on the FFA manual.

FFA is a student organization for those looking for leadership roles in their careers through agriculture. The acronym stands for Future Farmers of America. FFA is not just for people who work on farms, but for people who want to teach agriculture or any other career paths that would involve agriculture.

“I had a of fun, and I’d definitely go back and do it again,” Werner said. “A lot of people go to compete to try and become state officers and national officers. It was a good time.”

“It was definitely a great opportunity for the kids. We all had a great time,” Mr. Butts, SMHS FFA advisor, said.
