On January 10thSMHS Boys Varsity Basketball played against their biggest rival, Hedgesville High School.

The score was 54-22. Hedgesville my of won, but that didn’t stop the boys from trying.

Before basketball games, the boys listen to music to get them hype for a game, especially against Hedgesville since that is their biggest rival.

The varsity boys played a hard and stressful game. They never lost their confidence during their play of the game. Each player played hard until the very end of the game.

“We all have the same goal, and that’s to win,” said sophomore Varsity player Jake Barrick.

These boys are not only a good working team, but they are also a close family.

“When I’m surrounded by the team they feel like family to me,” said junior and Varsity player Logan Clemmons.

Even though SMHS lost, the team is family to them, and as long as they have their heads in the game they will make that victory.
