Kings Dominion in Virginia has their WinterFest going on from November 20th to January 9th.
The Kings Dominion website says this about WinterFest, “The park will transform into a winter wonderland with millions of shimmering lights, breathtaking décor, and lavish displays. The Eiffel Tower will become a 300-foot-tall Christmas tree and the iconic fountain on International Street will transform into the most beautiful and largest ice-skating rink around.”
The admission tickets price is $45.00 at the gate and $32.00 online. The single day parking is $20.00 at the gate and $17.00 online.
The Kings Dominion website says that there are 21 attractions open. Those attractions are Americana, Bad Apple, Blue Ridge Tollway, Carousel, Charlie Brown’s Wind Up, Delirium, Dodgem, Dominator, Flying Ace Balloon Race, Flying Eagles, Great Pumpkin Coaster, Kite Eating Tree, Linus Launcher, Lucy’s Crabbie Cabbies, Peanuts 500, Sally’s Sea Plane, Snoopy’s Junction, Snoopy’s Space Buggies, Twisted Timbers, Wave Swinger, and Woodstock Whirlybirds. There are only 3 attractions open that have an aggressive thrill level.
I went to Kings Dominion’s WinterFest and this is what I thought about it. There are plenty of Christmas theme characters wandering around and posing for pictures. The costumes are cute and nice to look at. The people in the costumes are in character and friendly! The attractions that are open are mainly for little kids. If you have younger cousins or siblings that you want to take there it would be great. The bigger attractions do close after a little bit of time, so when you get there, you must do those rides first if you want to do them at all. There are warming stations around the park that are very nice and the food is pretty good. The lights and decorations are gorgeous and amazing to look at.
If you have younger siblings or cousins and want to take them somewhere fun for the winter, then this is the place for you.
