On Friday, October 5th, the Spring Mills Cardinals dominated the Jefferson Cougars for their homecoming game with a final score of 55-22. It didn’t take long for the Cardinals to get on the board.

On the Cardinals’ second drive, senior Rohan Parchment caught a long touchdown pass to give Spring Mills an early 7-0 lead. Later in the first quarter, the Cardinals capitalized off a Jefferson turnover and made it 14-0 at the end of the first.

The Cardinals dominated on both sides of the ball for most of the night, moving the ball very consistently on offense and playing very physical defense the whole game.

Parchment had a stellar night, recording three touchdown catches. Senior Trevor Ward was proud of how his team performed on Friday.

“We played outstanding on Friday. We moved the ball very efficiently on offense and shut them down on defense,” said Ward. “Parchment and Henderson definitely step up as leaders in the game. Henderson is the one who gets us all hype before the game and on the field. Parchment played great by catching those three long touchdowns passes,” said Ward.

The future seems bright for the Cardinals after this convincing win.

“I think this win means a lot to us. With a bye week coming up and only a few more games left, that game will give us the energy we need to make a final playoff push,” said Ward.
