Spring Mills boys’ varsity lacrosse has started the season off strong with pre-season conditioning at the school to better themselves.

Lacrosse conditioning started during the first week of school. Conditioning is every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00.

“I’m really looking forward to this. I believe this conditioning is really helping to prepare me for the upcoming season,” said junior Maguire Willard. During the conditioning, the boys practice tossing the ball, running the drills, and scoring goals.

Conditioning before the season starts is important because a player gets prepared for the season so when it comes, they are ready. When the start of the season rolls around, the players will be equipped.

If new to a sport, conditioning can help beginners learn all the rules. When starting conditioning, the body is being trained for what’s to come. Lacrosse can help with more than using a ball and stick.

“Lacrosse has helped me in numerous ways; it has helped me learn to work as a team and become a better team player. It’s helped me become better at soccer too,” said senior Garrett Grimes.
